William J. Gover, Jr. age 89, of Dayton, OH, formerly of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Hospice of Dayton.
William was born on December 26, 1925 in Somerset to the late William Jennings Gover, Sr. and Mamie Lee Rogers Gover. William is a US Navy Veteran, he was an Inspector for General Motors for 38 years, and is a member of Sardis United Methodist Church in Nancy, KY.
He is survived by his wife, Randa Belle Keeney Gover, whom he married on July 15, 1946 in Somerset; two sons, John E. (and Tracy) Gover of Trotwood, OH and Steve A. Gover of Medway, OH; a brother, Luid (and Sue) Gover of Somerset, KY; three sisters, Ruby Wisseck of Lexington, KY, Geraldene Redman of Somerset, KY and Judy Ann Meece of Somerset, KY; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Pauline Ruttenburg.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 12:00pm until 2:30pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will follow the visitation Friday, November 13, 2015 at 2:30pm in the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Greg Gover officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be performed by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes
