Willard Ard

March 10, 1940 — May 11, 2017

Willard Hansford, 77, of Somerset, Kentucky passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at his residence.



He was born in the Mark Community in Pulaski Co., Kentucky on March 10, 1940; son of the late Arthur and Irene Poynter Hansford. He retired in 2002 as the Pulaski County Clerk. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, the Shriners, Pulaski Co. Republican party, and a fifty year member of the Woodstock Masonic Lodge. Willard was a 1959 graduate of Shopville High School. He always had an interest in the Republican Party; Willard would always call himself a country boy. He was a loving father, farmer, friend, and public servant.



He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lois Beshears Hansford whom he married on December 26, 1964; a son, Todd & (Barbara) Hansford of Somerset, KY.; two grandsons, Zachary Hansford and Joshua Hansford; three sisters, Frances & (EJ) Jones and Iva Dean & (Buck) Price both of Somerset, and Linda & (Stan) Stevenson of Nancy, KY.



He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Sherman Hansford; a sister, Faye Keller-Estep; a brother-in-law, Bob Keller, and a sister-in-law, Helen Hansford.



A funeral service will be held at 12 PM Monday, May 15, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Corey Meggs and Bro. Stan Stevenson officiating.



Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.



Visitation will be from 5-8 PM Sunday, MAy 14, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, and after 9 AM Monday until time for services.



The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland or Pleasant Hill Baptist Church building fund.



Pulaski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
