Vickie J. Hughes, age 60, of Nancy, Kentucky, passed from this life on Thursday, October 22, 2020 at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington.

She was born on January 13, 1960 in Somerset, Kentucky, the daughter of Wallace Pierce and the late Mavis Jeree Simpson Pierce.

Vickie was a member of Calvary Temple Church in Columbia where she first started attending in 1972. She worked several years at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Environmental Services. She helped on the family dairy farm, and she loved her pets, especially her dog Blake. Vickie will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Jeree Pierce; and her husband, Mike Hughes.

She is survived by her son, Wally (and Tasha) Hughes of Nancy; her father, Wallace (and Della) Pierce of Nancy; three grandchildren, Ethan Hughes, Harper Hughes, and Knox Hughes. She is also survived by a host of other family and many friends.

Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2020 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. David South and Bro. Troy McWhorter officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Vickie J. Hughes.
