Valarie Calhoun

Valerie Gaye Calhoun, age 58, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Monday, April 6, 2020 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

She was born on September 25, 1961 in Hamilton, OH, to the late Randall H. Turner and Nora Altona (Tony) Johnson Turner. Valerie was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She loved family gatherings and loved her dogs, Precious and Bailey. She enjoyed crafting, keeping up with her friends on Facebook, and going to Somernites Cruise.

Valerie is survived by her husband, Randy Lee Calhoun of Somerset; a son, Jordan Wade Calhoun of Somerset; two brothers, Larry (and Joy) Turner of Eaton, OH and Dennis (Judy) Turner of Douglasville, GA; three sisters, Doris (and Everett Jack) Lowe of Logansport, IN; Georgiann (and James) Spencer of Eaton, OH; and Brenda (and Randall) Bowling of Somerset, KY; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David (and Relda) Calhoun of Somerset; Eddie Joe Calhoun of Somerset; Carol Daulton of Somerset; Debbie (and Randy) Zimmerman of Lawrenceburg, KY; and nieces and nephews, Jeremy Turner, Amy Lowe, Jimmy Spencer, Stacy Snyder, Dronda Davis, Dana McMahan, Shane Bowling, Christopher Brewer, Zachary Turner, Oliviah Turner; Lori Ann Carter, Melissa Taylor, Gabriel Slugantz, Courtney Hart, and Joshua Zimmerman. She is also survived by a host of great-nieces and nephews and many cousins who will all miss her and the love and affection she always showered upon them.

Along with her parents, Randall and Tony Turner, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Daniel Spencer and a brother-in-law, Wendell Jack Daulton.

A private service will be held for the immediate family at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  A private burial will follow for the immediate family at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. A Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date when it is permissible.
