Theresa D. Baker Chitwood, 87, passed away on July 5, 2010, in Louisville, KY.

She was born April 12, 1923 in Somerset, KY and was the daughter of the late Arthur and Jessie Girdler Baker. Theresa was united in marriage to Quentin L. Chitwood in Oneida, TN on May 15, 1940, just celebrating 70 glorious years of marriage. She enjoyed taking care of her family as a homemaker, enjoyed sewing, cooking and loved to play bridge with family and friends.

Theresa is survived by her husband; daughter, Terrye (Maury) Swinford of Louisville, KY; grandchildren, Kent Swinford, Kristi (Dr. Don) Rudolf, Kandi Corminer, Carrie Chitwood and Melissa Ellis; nephews, Bill Baker, Rudy Baker and Claude Shoun and niece, Erma Humpfner.

She is preceded in death by her parents; son, Arthur Chitwood; brother, Rudolph Baker; sister, Darlene Baker Shoun and sister-in-law, Billie Dean Baker.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co & Crematory.

A celebration honoring the life of Theresa D. Baker Chitwood will be held on Friday, July 9, 2010 at 1:00 PM at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co. & Crematory with Bro. David Bullock officiating.

Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Somerset Undertaking Co. & Crematory is in charge of arrangements for Theresa D. Baker Chitwood.
