Thelma Minton

Thelma Elizabeth Phelps Minton, age 93, passed away at her residence in Somerset on Friday, April 1, 2016. She was born on August 13, 1928 in Ferguson to the late Tony Phelps and Lucy Ethel Phelps. She was a member of the Ferguson Baptist Church. Thelma had worked as a seamstress with the Palm Beach Company. She enjoyed listening to country music, traveling and being with her family.

Survivors are a sister, Reba Hatfield and her family , Ferguson, KY and two daughters, Frances Maureen Randall of Somerset and Beverly Lynn Scott of LaJolla, CA. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Veronica Whittle of Faubush, Curtis Smith of Indiana, Terry Edward Randall of Somerset, Tony Randall of Harlan County, Keith Randall of Somerset, Timothy Pemberton of California, Deanna Stewart of Somerset and Shannon Stewart of Cincinnati, OH; 10 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

Preceding Thelma in death were a son, Leland E. Stewart; brothers, Leonard, Howard, James Bunt and Glen Phelps; two sisters, Katherine Colyer and Delores Phelps; and two grandchildren, Sherrie Marie Randall and Ronald Lee Smith.

Visitation for Thelma Phelps Minton will be held on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 2-4 PM at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co and Crematory.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 4th, 2016 at 10:30 am at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
