Thelma Daulton

Thelma V. Daulton (Garland), age 98, passed from her Earthly Home to her Heavenly Home on Wednesday, January 29, 2020, surrounded by her family. Thelma was born October 29, 1921 to parents Elihu and Hettie Denham Garland, of Pulaski County.

Thelma was married to John A. Daulton for 54 years before he preceded her in death in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Elihu and Hettie Garland, her sister, Minnie Garland McCloskey, and brothers Wilmore, David, Lucien, and Richard Garland.

She is survived by her daughters Phyllis (Stephen) Schnacke, of Bowling Green, KY and Carolyn Daulton Mays, of Somerset, grandsons, Dylan (Trona) Mays of Concord North Carolina and Joshua (Jennifer) Schnacke of Cincinnati, OH. She is also survived by great grandchildren Jansen M. Enoul (Tuin), Jonathan Mays (Natasha), Jorja Mays, and Emily, Madelyn, and William Schnacke. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.

Thelma was a charter member of Buena Vista Baptist Church (now Cornerstone Baptist Church) along with her husband, John. She loved babies and was a longtime Sunday school teacher in the nursery department. She loved staying active and continued to work a few days a week until the age of 95.

Visitation 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2020, at Somerset Undertaking Company.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 4, 2020, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mark Wurzelbacher and Rev. Jamie Taylor officiating.

Interment will be next to her husband, John, in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Sunda Smith, Donna Wesley, and June Sackett for their excellent care during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Cornerstone Baptist Church, or Gideons International.
