Shirley Wilson

Shirley K. Wilson, formerly of Faubush, KY, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Cedarhurst Senior Living of Nicholasville at the age of 77.  Shirley was born on April 9, 1947 in Somerset, KY to Lonnie and Roxie Ziglar Mayfield.   Shirley married Billy L. Wilson on August 14, 1965 at Slate Branch Baptist Church. They shared 57 years of marriage until his passing on September 2, 2022.  She was a hairdresser for more than thirty six years from her home salon, Curlette Beauty Shop.  Shirley deeply loved her family and  church family at Parkers Mill Road Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Tawnya K. Oberman (Tyler) of Lancaster; three grandchildren, Mary Katherine Oberman-Griffin (Jordan), William Oberman and Clayton Oberman; and one brother, Curt Mayfield (Fayrene); sister-in-law, Sue Mayfield; and brother-in-law, George Brown.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Lonnie and Roxie Mayfield; her husband, Billy L. Wilson; her son, Spencer Wilson; one sister, Lessie Brown; and three brothers, Robert Mayfield, Allen Mayfield, and Carl Mayfield.

Visitation will be on Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Hwy 80, Somerset, KY  42503.  Her Funeral Service will follow at 1:00 pm on June 6th at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Darry Hatfield officiating.  Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
