Shirley McGuire

Shirley Ann McGuire, age 79, of Science Hill, passed from this life on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility.
Shirley was born in Detroit, Michigan, on January 18, 1937, daughter of the late Ollie and Cora Davenport Puckett. She married Aubrey Jack McGuire, on October 25, 1955. Shirley was a retired bookkeeper for Good Year Tire Center, of Somerset. She was of the Nazarene faith. Shirley enjoyed dancing, gardening and playing Bingo.
She is survived by her son, Aubrey James (and Karen) McGuire, of Lexington; her daughters, Beverly Dawn (and Jeff) Gross, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, and Jacqueline Ann (and David) McAfee, of Hardinsburg; and her two granddaughters, Katelyn Gross and Haley Gross.
Preceding Shirley in death are her parents; her husband, Aubrey; and her brother, Harold Puckett.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 18, 2016, at 10:00 a.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services will follow the visitation, at 12:00 noon, in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Harold Harris officiating. Entombment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
