Shelva Jean Rose age 81, of Somerset, Kentucky passed from this life Thursday, September 24, 2020 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center.

Shelva was born March 8, 1939 to the late Charles Brumley and Mary Brown Brumley in Somerset, Kentucky.

She was a member of Seven Oaks Baptist Church and enjoyed working puzzles. Shelva worked at Cumberland Nursing and Rehab, Britthaven as a cook and worked at VIP in Burnside.

Shelva was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Mary Brumley, her husband, Donald Rose, 7 brothers and one great-great granddaughter.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons, Glenn Rose, Timothy Rose Sr. both of Somerset, daughters, Edwina Rose of Somerset, Pamela Ping of Florida, brothers, Russell Brumley of Louisville, Vernon Brumley (Toni) of Cincinnati, 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home with a funeral service to begin at 12:00 Noon with Bro. Marvin Rose officiating, burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph Cancer Center.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements for Shelva Jean Rose.
