Saphrona Blanche Barber, age 85 of Burnside, KY departed this life on Friday, September 17, 2010 at Britthaven of Somerset.
She was born on July 22, 1925 in Colorado, the daughter of the late Harley and Ethel Gentry Rash. Mrs. Barber was a retired assembler for Texas Instruments and of the Baptist faith. She loved to garden, work in tobacco, and enjoyed hard work, and taking care of her family, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Barber is survived by four sons, Norman Turpin of Burnside, KY, Kyman Turpin of Burnside, KY, Eldon Turpin of Burnside, KY, and George H. Turpin of Paris, KY; a daughter, Bonnie (and James) Wafford of Somerset, KY; a brother, George Rash of Damascus, VA; thirteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Andrew Barber, whom she married in 1977 in Scott County, KY; two grandchildren, Patrick Turpin and Bronda Karron Wafford-Capps; three brothers, Everett Rash, Jacob Rash, Lester Rash; and two sisters; Delores and Grace.
Visitation for Mrs. Barber will Monday, September 20th after 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm. Bro. Tim Dishman will officiate. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens
