Sam "Sammy" Oliverio, age 82, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Monday, July 25, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
Sammy was born on February 5, 1934 in Shinnston, W.V. to the late Joseph and Catherine Oliverio. He was a 20 year Veteran of the United States Marines.
He is survived by his wife Betty Lee (Scales) Oliverio whom he married on March 14, 1964 in Mt. Washington, KY; and one daughter, Lisa (and Wilfred) Combs of Science Hill, KY.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, William Oliverio; and a sister, Mary Davis.
Visitation will be Wednesday, July 27, 2016 from 11:00am until 2:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
His funeral service will follow on Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at 2:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Damon Jones officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
