Sammie Ray Frei

Sammi Ray Frei, age 69 passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2023. He was born on August 25, 1953 in Somerset, KY, the son of the late Sam and Phama McPheron Frei. Sammi was a graduate of Somerset High School Class of 1971. He took over his father’s plumbing business which has been in existence for many years. Sammi’s son Desi is the Third-generation owner of Frei Plumbing.

He is survived by two sons, Desi (Aislynn) Frei of Science Hill, KY and Dustin (Katrina) Frei of Somerset; one daughter Samantha Glenn (Brent); one sister Charlotte Frei of Somerset, KY; Sammi is survived by 9 wonderful grandchildren. He enjoyed time on Lake Cumberland, he loved to travel and was an avid golfer.

A service celebrating the life of Sammi Ray Frei will be held on Tuesday April 18, 2023 at 12 Noon at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory. A visitation will be held starting at 10AM until time for service at the Chapel. Rev Brandon Carrier is the officiating minister. Inurnment will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family wishes that expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the UK Pediatrics for Neuro fibromatosis Tumor in care of the Frei and Glenn Families.
