Sammie Frei

Sammie Watson Frei, age 90, of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Somerset, KY on February 10, 1925, a son of the late August (AU) Ulrich and Addie Watson Frei. He was united in marriage to the late Phama McPheron Frei on November 21, 1952 in Rossville, GA. To this union was born two children Sammie R. Frei and Charlotte Frei both of Somerset.

Also surviving are three grandchildren; Desi Frei (Aislynn), Dustin Frei both of Somerset, KY and Samantha Frei Glenn (Brent) of Lancaster, SC Five great grandchildren: Adilyn, Ashtynn & Daxton Frei, Bristol and Deacon Glenn. Also surviving is Tonya Bourne Wilson who was like a family member. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers: William "Bud" and Charles Frei and one sister Evelyn Frei Simpson.

Sammie was a member of New Enterprise Baptist Church where he attended as long as his health permitted. He taught Sunday School until he was 87 yrs old he loved teaching his class and spent many hours preparing his lessons. He enjoyed spending time with family, neighbors and fellow church members. He also enjoyed fishing. Sammie was a retired master plumber and in 1969 he started his plumbing business which now is in the third generation, known as Frei Mechanical.

A service celebrating the life of Sammie W. Frei will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company with Brother Jim McKinney officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company.
