Ruth Heath

October 23, 1935 — January 18, 2021

Ruth Ellis Whiles Heath, daughter of Elbert and Letha Whiles, was born in Cains Store, KY on October 23, 1935.

Ruth was a graduate from Pulaski County High School, class of 1954. She was a member of the marching band and the National Honors Society. Throughout her life, she enjoyed living in different places such as Cincinnati, OH and Florence, KY before moving back to Somerset. She loved working. That list includes; Avon, Jergens, Kraft Foods, Queen City Dinette, Olan Mills Photography, and finally the Kmart Corporation from 1979 to 1998 where she retired as Personnel Manager.

She is survived by her husband of over 65 years, James P. Heath; daughters, Jeanne Heath East and Becky Heath Williams; a son, Scott Heath; a stepson, Jim Heath; sons-in-law, David East and Lonnie Dale Williams; a daughter-in-law, Susan Heath; four grandchildren, Jennifer, Lonnie, Miranda, and Ashley; two great-grandchildren, Jillian and Melody; a sister-in-law, Gloria Whiles; a niece, Vickie, and a nephew, Neal.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 22, 2021 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Friday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. David Carr officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
