Rodney Roy

August 15, 1939 — January 13, 2024

Rodney Allen Roy, (84), of Tulsa, OK, formerly of Somerset, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at Oklahoma University Medical Center after a short illness. 

Born and raised in Nancy, KY, Rodney attended Lindsey Wilson College and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Eastern Kentucky University. He spent his professional career in sales with the International Harvester Company (later Navistar International). After beginning as a truck salesman in Louisville, Rodney held positions in West Virginia, Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, and Georgia as District and Regional Sales Manager, later moving to corporate headquarters in Chicago as the National Marketing Director.

Rodney’s memory will live on in the hearts of his family: his sons Martin (Kimberly) and Andrew (Lauren) Roy; his daughter Rhonda (Jim) Comparin; his grandson Blake Henderson; his granddaughters Faith, Adelynn, and Ellie Rose Roy; his sister Rosalee (Lin) Edwards, his former wife Dora Delk Roy, and numerous cousins. 

He is predeceased by his parents Glen and Esther Barker Roy, and his beloved wife Freda Warner Roy.

Rodney was a member of the Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed visiting flea markets and yard sales to add to his extensive collection of antiques and memorabilia. He cherished his time with family and loved visiting with his grandchildren. He will long be remembered for his outgoing personality, welcoming attitude, and warm smile.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024, until the time of services at Pulaski Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2024, at Pulaski Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
