Richard James "Jimmy" Barnes, Jr., 66, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, October 18, 2015 at his residence.
He was born in Somerset, Kentucky on December 19, 1948, son of the late Richard James Barnes, Sr. and Norma Stogsdill Barnes. He was a data processor for 33 plus years for Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sisters, Linda L. Barnes of Science Hill, Wanda K. Harris of Soddy Daisy, TN and Nancy S. Barnes of Somerset, five nieces, Rhonda & (James) Phelps and Kelli Barnes, both of Somerset, Tonya Barnes & (Robert Hoskins) of Florida, Donna Barnes & (Brook Nance) of Somerset and Lesa & (Jesse) Pendergraph of Hixson, TN, two nephews, Eddie Thacker of Soddy Daisy, TN and Brian & (Mary) Thacker of East Ridge, TN, twelve great-nieces and great-nephews, Brandon & (Shauna) Phelps of Somerset, Ashley & (Branden) Bowling of Ashland, KY, Michele Herrin & (Thomas King) of Nancy, Hayley, Tyler and Ethan Hoskins of Florida, Keegan and Payton Nance of Somerset, Casey Thacker of East Ridge, TN, Brianna Thacker, Steven Raines, Spring Pendergraph and Addyson Shepherd, all of Soddy Daisy, TN and seven great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews, Mallory, Macie and Jenna Phelps, Natalie, Jadon and Hannah Bolen and Isaiah King.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-great-nephew, Alexzander Bolen.
A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Danny Pace officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 6 PM Tuesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
