Ralph Muse

Ralph E. Muse, age 80, of Somerset, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at St. Joseph Hospital, in Lexington.
Ralph was born on November 29, 1937, in Somerset, son of Lonnie and Dorothy B. Gossett Muse. He was a member of the Somerset High School graduating class of 1956. Ralph married Ann Hamilton on June 9, 1957, in Somerset. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Ralph was a 50 year plus member of the Somerset Masonic Lodge #111 and of the Order of the Eastern Star Somerset Chapter #23. He was a University of Kentucky sports fan and enjoyed traveling and camping. Ralph attended Ferguson United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Hamilton Muse; his brother, Donald Lee Muse (Bonnie), of Chattanooga, Tennessee; his sister, Joyce Ann Tibbals (William), of Berryville, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Mary E. Young (Kenneth), Evelyn Whitis, Bennie Newell, Jenny Stringer and Mollie Hamilton; nieces and nephews, Clarence Muse, Perry Muse (Denise), Terry Muse (Patti), Mark Tibbals (Trudy), Melinda Ruth (Jerry), Peggy See, Linda Berry, Steve Smith (Charlotte), Garlen Whitis (Paula), Gail Wheat (James), Greg Whitis, Elizabeth Smith (Tom), Brenda Dawson (Gordon), Eddie Newell, and Cindy Keith; his extended family, Oscar and Marsha Epperson, Jeff and Carrie Epperson and family, Susan and Mike Alexander and family, and Lisa and Dennis Floyd and family; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Preceding Ralph in death are his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Sanford and Edna Hamilton; his brother, Kenneth Muse; his brothers-in-law, Carroll Newell, Leonard Whitis, Hoyt Stringer and Parker Hamilton; his niece, Diane Young; and his nephew, Paul Muse.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 7, 2017, after 5:00 p.m., in the Somerset Undertaking Company chapel, with Masonic Rites conducted at 7:00 p.m., by the Somerset Masonic Lodge #111.
A Celebration of the Life of Ralph E. Muse will be held on Friday, December 8, 2017, at 1:30 p.m., in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bobby Sexton and Rev. Gary Clark officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Garlen Whitis, Greg Whitis, Eddie Newell, Mark Tibbals, Perry Muse, Jeff Epperson, Dennis Floyd and Mike Alexander. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clarence Muse and Steve Smith. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post #38 Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ferguson United Methodist Church Building Fund or to the Gideons International for Bible placement.
