Mr. Ralph Lee Farmer, Sr., son of the late S.F and Marcella Price Farmer, was born July 14, 1936 and he departed this life on July 28, 2018 having attained the age of 82 years.
He was united in marriage to Mrs. Jean Hunt Farmer, she survives. Other survivors include; one son, Ralph Lee "Rocky" Farmer, Jr., (and his wife Sheila); a daughter-in-law, Sue Farmer Hill; four grandchildren, Ralph Lee "Ricky" Farmer III (and his wife Kellie); Misty Resch (and her husband Phillip), Gregory John "GJ" Farmer, Jr. (and his wife Hillary) and Laura Tilley (and her husband Seth); seven great grandchildren, Anna Farmer, Chase Farmer, Sydney Resch, Gregory John "Jack" Farmer III, Mackenzie Farmer, Jocelyn Farmer, and Garren Tilley; two brothers, Stan Farmer (and his wife, Carolyn) and Price Farmer.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; one son, Gregory John Farmer, Sr.; two sisters, Maxine Miller and Sybil Woodall; one brother, Boyce Farmer; one brother-in-law, Jim Miller, one sister-in-law, Una Farmer; his father-in-law, Everett Hunt and his mother-in-law, Beulah Hunt.
Ralph was a member of the East Somerset Baptist Church where he took pride in the landscape and flower garden there at the church. He was a longtime businessman of Convenient Food Marts and was an avid hunter, and also enjoyed baseball and basketball.
He was a kind and family loving person who will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the East Somerset Baptist Church, with Rev. Darvie Fenison officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
The family of Mr. Ralph Lee Farmer, Sr. will receive friends at the East Somerset Baptist Church after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, and from 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until time for services.
