Pauline Compton

Eula “Pauline” Compton, age 92, of Nancy, KY, passed peacefully from this life on Monday, October 12, 2020 at her home.

Pauline was born on August 8, 1928 in Nancy, KY, the daughter of the late William Carl Hunley and Rosetta Roy Hunley.  She was a graduate of Eastern Kentucky University and was an elementary teacher for the Pulaski County School System for 36 years.  She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and Kentucky Education Association.  Pauline was a faithful and longtime member of Burnetta Baptist Church.  She was united in marriage to Winfred Compton on November 27, 1947. They were the proud parents of Larry Winfred Compton, who preceded her in death on August 5, 2001.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Winfred Compton and her beloved grandson, Jeremy Wade Compton (Jessica Minton).  She is also survived by special family members, Jeanne (and Vola) Brown, and her siblings, Edna (and Gene) Jasper and Edward (and Dorcas) Hunley, as well as several nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

In her spare time she enjoyed playing cards, crossword puzzles and sewing.  She also loved gardening and traveling with her husband.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 15, 2020 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Thursday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Vola Brown officiating.  Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Jeremy Compton, Edward Hunley, Alan Hunley, Billy Coner, David Compton and Doug McLearen.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy be made to the Faubush Fire Department.
