Pat Scott

Paula “Pat” Janette Trail Scott, age 86, of Somerset passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at the UK Hospital.

Pat was born on April 25, 1937 in Harlan Co., KY to the late William Trail and Merry Helen Troutman Trail.  Pat was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist Church.  She retired as a teacher from the Harlan County School System.  Pat loved to sing and was the founder of Miss Pat’s Sewing Group.  

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence T. “Tuney” Scott, whom she married in 1954 and he preceded her on February 8, 2008; one son, Kent Scott; and a sister, Frances Allen.  

She is survived by a daughter, Paula P. Scott, of Lexington, KY; a daughter-in-law, Regina Scott (Kent) of Butler, KY; six grandchildren, Weslie Stephenson, Allison Scott, Brandon Scott, Brittain Trail Stephenson (Claire), Ethan Scott and Travis Scott (Kendalyn); one great grandchild, Olivia Scott (Brandon and Rachel).  She is also survived by one sister, Catherine Trail Smith of Gastonia, N.C; and several nieces and nephews.   

Visitation will be on Saturday, April 20, 2024 from 4:00pm until 6:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  Her funeral service will follow on Saturday at 6:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Donovan Burton officiating.  

A Graveside service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 12:00pm at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
