Pamela Bastin

Pamela Bastin, daughter of the late Bernard E. Brotherton and Allene Hargis Brotherton Tarter, was born in the Saline community of Pulaski County on August 20, 1943 and she departed this life on November 9th, 2023 in Somerset, KY having attained the age of 80 years.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Joseph Bradley Bastin on March 9th, 1963 in Science Hill, KY. He preceded her in death on January 21, 2016 after 52 years of marriage.
Survivors include; one son, Joseph Bradley Bastin II (and his wife Melissa) of Somerset, KY; three sisters-in-law, Karen Brotherton, Patty Jasper, and Juanita Sloan; one brother-in-law, Gary Bastin (and his wife Beverly Ann); the following nieces and nephews, Teresa Haynes, Judy Daulton, Melissa Helm, Angela Brotherton, Aimee Brotherton, Eric Brotherton, Robin Bernal, Kent Jasper, Todd Jasper, Jeff Jasper, Brad Sloan, Amanda VanArsdale and Ashley Hickey; and a host of great nieces, and nephews who mourn her passing.

Other than her parents and husband, Pamela was also preceded in death by her step-father Athel Tater; her sister, Tamara Daulton; two brothers, Ronald and Wendall Brotherton, a sister-in-law, Diann Brotherton and a special nephew Eddie Daulton.

Pamela was a 1962 graduate of Pulaski County High School she also worked at the Pulaski County Board of Education in Finance for a short time before later working for the Somerset Refinery for many years. She and her husband were also owners of the Treasure Chest Florist for many years. 

Family was very important to Pam and she loved hosting family gatherings at her home. She also enjoyed traveling and went whenever she could whether a day trip shopping or a week long trip to the beach. Pam was a loving kind and generous lady. She always brought a smile to your face and seldom met a stranger. She was a wonderful mother, mother in law, sister, aunt, great aunt and friend to all who knew her.

A funeral service for Pam will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 16th 2023 at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. David Pendley officiating. Entombment will follow at the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.  The family of Pam Bastin will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. Thursday until time for services.
