Nina Rogers

Nina “Jean” Rogers, age 91, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2019 at Somerset Nursing and Rehab.

Jean was born on October 10, 1927 in Somerset, KY to the late Harry Ashbrook and Bertha E. Daulton Ashbrook.  She was a long-time member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

She is survived by one son, David (and Janice) Rogers of Somerset; one daughter, Nina Sue (and Larry) Hall of Somerset; two brothers, Owen Lee Ashbrook of Mt. Orab, OH and John (and Vivian) Ashbrook of Nancy; one sister, Wanda Ashbrook of Nancy; four grandchildren, Mary Beth Burton of Bowling Green, Samuel (and Heather) Rogers of Somerset, John C. Rogers of Bowling Green and Kristy (and Sam) Daniels of Somerset; six great-grandchildren, Cheyenne Rogers of Somerset, Samuel David Rogers Jr of Somerset, Drake Stucy of Somerset, Kenneth Joe Burton of Bowling Green, Jordan Daniels of Somerset and Amber Rogers of Burbank, CA; one brother-in-law, Edward Rogers; three sisters-in-law, Norma Rogers, Wilma J. Burton and Maxine Godsey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Ray Rogers, whom she married on April 15, 1944 in Nancy, KY and he preceded her on October 17, 2003; three brothers, Dewayne Ashbrook, James Ashbrook and Norman Ashbrook; one sister, Leeta Ann Henderson; three sisters-in-law, Alene Ashbrook, Irene Rogers Dalton and Elsie Rogers; and four brothers-in-law, Charles Rogers, Vertrees Burton, Herbert Godsey and C. Dalton.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 8, 2019 from 6:00pm until 9:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 9, 2019 at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Corey Meggs officiating.  Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
