Mildred Harris

March 23, 1943 — January 12, 2016

Mildred "Jean" Harris, age 72, of Somerset, passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Jean was born on March 23, 1943, in the Ruth Community, to the late William Riley and Elizabeth Parker Glover. She was a member of the Shopville High School graduating Class of 1960. Jean married Wayne Harris, in Jamestown, Tennessee, on December 14, 1972. She was a retired bookkeeper for Briar Bowl Lanes, of Somerset, and was currently working for Laker Lanes, of Russell Springs. Jean was currently enjoying assisting people at the unemployment office, in Somerset, as well. She enjoyed bowling, being on her computer, reading her Bible and listening to T.V. evangelists. Jean especially loved spending time with her "grandbabies". She was a member of Barnesburg Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Michael "Wayne" Harris; her sons, Timmy Eugene Correll, of Somerset, and Barton Riley Harris, of Ashburn, Virginia; her step-son, Mike (and Pam) Harris, of the Oak Hill Community; her daughter, Angela Elizabeth (and Randy) Fuller, of Lexington; her brother, Michael Wayne (and Pam) Glover, of Knoxville, Tennessee; her sister-in-law, Beverly Glover, of London; her grandchildren, Aaron Thomas Michael Holt and Kaley Faith Harris; her great-grandchildren, Jaxson Lee Holt and Elena Grace Holt; and three children that Mildred was the Grand-Godmother of, Kaitlynn Correll, Gracie Correll and Abbygail Correll.

Preceding Jean in death are her parents; and her brother, James Lee Glover.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 14, 2016, after 6:00 p.m., in Southern Oaks Funeral Home Chapel.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Emmett Lanham officiating. Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

Southern Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
