Maxine Barker Stevens, age 83 of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Monday, July 8, 2024 at her home.

She was born on February 23, 1941 in Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Jessie and Annie Crouch Barker. She worked in sales at Goldenberg’s Furniture for over 20 years. She was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and enjoyed flowers, cooking, spending time with her family and when she was able to, she enjoyed traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 68 years, James Stevens; son, Rick Stevens; a grandson, Jamie Stevens; brothers, Leonard Barker, John Bill Barker and Jerry Barker; and sisters, Frances Tarter and Emma Jean Mayfield.

She is survived by daughters, Debbie Mick and Pam (Mike) Harris all of Somerset; brother, Terry (Jean) Barker of Eubank; grandchildren, Robbie (Stephanie) Baker, Chris (Misty) Baker and Jessica (Luke) Boyd; great-grandchildren, Carter Stevens, Braxton Boyd, Haylee Boyd, Hunter Baker, Brody Baker, Bentley Baker, Kyndal Henderson, Lydia Troxell, Kailyn Henderson, Jasmine Peavy, Jaxson Peavy and Jaci Peavy; special granddaughter-in-law, Billie Lowery and a host of friends, nieces, nephews and extended family.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Southern Oaks Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Alan Fisher officiating. Burial will follow in Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Robbie Baker, Carter Stevens, Braxton Boyd, Luke Boyd, Brody Baker, Mike Harris and Hunter Baker.
