Mary Ellen Thompson, age 78 of the Faubush, KY, departed this life on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at the Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Somerset, KY.
She was born on May 26, 1932 in Cincinnati, OH to the late William and Helen Margaret Abel Stone. She was a homemaker and of the Catholic faith. Mrs. Thompson loved to play bingo.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by four sons, Henry W. (and Stella) Thompson Jr. of Nancy, KY, Rodney Gumm, Billy Gumm, and Ricky Gumm; four daughters, Mary (and Michael) Parido of Frost Proof, FL, Karen Gumm, Kathy Gumm, and Betty Jean Gumm; a sister, Arlene Stone; five grandchildren, Sherri Reese, Christopher Thompson, Anthony Deal, Shannon Deal, and Steven Thompson; and four great grandchildren, DaKayla Richardson, Katie Jo Dodson, Ryan Thompson, and Jasmine Thompson.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry William Thompson, whom she married on April 13, 1966 in Richmond, IN and who passed away on May 16, 2002.
Visitation for Mrs. Thompson will be Monday, November 29th after 10:00 am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 12 Noon. Dr. Greg Ryan will officiate. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens, Somerset, Kentucky.
The family requests expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland, 100 Parkway Drive, Somerset, KY 42503
