Mary Ellen Wilson Taylor, age 85, of Somerset, widow of the late Mr. Owen Kenneth Taylor, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Hospice of Lake Cumberland, Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset after an extended illness.

She was born on September 22, 1932 in Whitley County, Kentucky, daughter of the late Willie "Bill" Wilson and Ester Worley Wilson. Mary was a Retired Day Care Provider after several years caring for children while being a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and sewing. Perhaps her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She was a loving, kind, generous and caring Mother, Grandmother and Great-grandmother. Mary had an outgoing personality, was very sociable and enjoyed the pleasure of many friendships throughout her life. She was of the Baptist Faith. Her radiant smile and gallant spirit will be missed by those who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Owen Kenneth Taylor whom she married on May 21, 1948 in McCreary County. Three brothers; W. O. Wilson, Charles Wilson and Ray Wilson and five sisters; Evelyn Prewitt, Pauline Jones, Ruby Schoo, Carol Gosnell and Cora Glover

She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her daughters; Linda Charlotte Sumner (Bill) of Columbus, Ohio and Glenna Katherine Engle (Olan) of Batavia, Ohio, a sister; Norma Jean Partin of Reading, Ohio, her grandchildren; Doug Sumner (Jenny), Brad Sumner (Bobbi) , Kevin Sumner (April), and Scott Engle (Erica) , her great-grandchildren; Bradley Sumner, II (Michaela), Bailey Sumner,

Ashley Sumner, Oakley Engle and Brantley Engle, her step-grandchildren; Justin Brodess , Charlie and Jeremy Ellis, several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Visitation for Mary Ellen Wilson Taylor will be on Saturday, July 14, 2018 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company and Crematory. A Celebration of Life Service honoring Mrs. Taylor will be held at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Charles Woodcock officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens Cemetery
