Mary Hobdy

Mary Lois Tucker Hobdy, 76, of Somerset passed from this life on Friday, December 31, 2021 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born on May 24, 1945 in West Moreland, Tennessee, daughter of the late Louis and Maggie Clark Tucker.   Mary worked as a cashier in the retail sales business for a number of years until her retirement.  She enjoyed drawing, painting and sewing as well as gardening, always giving special care to her live plants.  Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.  She was of the Christian Faith and was a loving mother, grandmother great-grandmother and friend.  She will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers; Kenneth Tucker, James Tucker and Bobby Jean Tucker.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son; Jim (Marcy) Hobdy and a daughter; Vickie (Rich) Christian all of Somerset, her grandchildren; Chris (Candace) Hobdy, Brad (Trish) Hobdy, K. C. (Ciara) Chappell, Trae Chappell, Kit Chappell, Megan (Jeffery) Lyons, Cody (Katie) Flynn, Trevor Flynn, Justin Christian and Matthew Christian, her great-grandchildren; Hailey Hobdy, Kylie Hobdy, Landen Hobdy, Kaden Hobdy, Kenidi Chappell, Ava Chappell, Colyer Chappell and Kace Chappell.  She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

In keeping with Mary’s wishes, a Private Visitation will be held in the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.  Graveside Services and Interment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Bro. Richard Christian officiating.
