Marjorie Rhea Knauer Turpen, 93, of Somerset, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Somerwoods Nursing and Rehabilitation. Marjorie was born in Louisville, KY on June 17, 1923 to the late D.C. Knauer and Marguerite Bilyen Knauer. She was united in marriage to James (Jay) Turpen in Somerset on October 29, 1954. He passed away on May 1, 2012.
Marjorie was a member of the Pisgah Presbyterian Church. She was a bookkeeper who retired from Belnap. She was an avid bridge player, past President of Somerset PTA, and a past member of the Somerset Business & Professional Women's Club. She loved life, enjoyed travelling and meeting people. She will be missed by many.
Marjorie and Jay were blessed with a son, David Todd Turpen, who preceded them in death on January 25, 2001.
Marjorie is survived by her granddaughter, Katherine Marie Turpen; her daughter-in-law, Karen Turpen, both of Windham, ME and dear and loving friends, Marjie and Mike Hille of Somerset.
A graveside service will be held for Marjorie Turpen on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm. at the mausoleum at Lakeside Memorial Gardens with Dr. Greg Ryan officiating.
