Lula Conley

Lula Jane Conley, daughter of the late Alfred and Elizabeth McKinney Starnes, was born in Garrard County, KY on June 7, 1934 and she departed this life on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 having attained the age of 82 years.


She was united in marriage to Mr. Garnel B. Conley on October 16, 1954. He preceded her in death. Other than her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by three brothers, William Alfred Starnes, Paul Starnes, and G. B. Starnes; two sisters, Toney Ray Tackett, and Nadine Starnes Scott; and a sister-in-law, Helen Starnes.


Survivors include; two sons, Gary (and Wendi) Conley, and Doug (and Terri) Conley and a daughter, Vicky (and Joel) Pelston all of Somerset, KY; a sister, Joetta Starnes Talbott of Lancaster, KY; two sisters-in-law, Marie Starnes of Dayton, Ohio, and Betty Starnes of Somerset, KY; a brother-in-law, Thomas Scott of Lancaster, KY; nine grandchildren, Aubrey Conley, Amber Conley, Chris Conley, Nicky (and Rodney) Edwards, Curtis Pelston, Jacob Pelston, Brandon (and Gina) Conley, Meagan Conley, and Morgan Conley; eight great grandchildren, Abbigail Edwards, Addilyn Edwards, Anniston Edwards, Kaley Harris, Braelyn Conley, Kayden Conley, Kara Conley and Rebecca Grace Conley.


Mrs. Conley was a retired Palm Beach employee and a member of the Duke Memorial Baptist Church, she was a kind lady who will be deeply missed by her friends and leaves a host of relatives who mourn her passing.


A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 14, 2016 at the Chapel of the Pulaski Funeral Home with Rev. David Morris and Bro. Darrell Pelston officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.


The family of Mrs. Lula Jane Conley will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, October 13, 2016.


In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
