Louise Blankenship

Mrs. Lelah Tyree Caudill of Somerset, Kentucky, daughter of the late Charles and Mattie (Halcomb) Tyree was born on July 5, 1919 in Letcher County, Kentucky and departed this life on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital having attained the age of 91.

She was united in marriage to Elza Caudill on June 25, 1946 in Whitesburg, Kentucky, he preceded her in death back on October 16, 1983. Lelah is also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Willard Tyree, Clyde (and Emilee) Tyree, Charles (and Oma) Tyree; 3 sisters, Gladys (and Charles) Collins, Frances Alcorn and Mattie Sue Kincer.

Lelah is survived by 2 children Michael (and Elizabeth Wilson) Caudill, Matalene Caudill (and Ron) Absher, 2 brothers, Rufus Tyree of Decatur, Michigan, Tom (and Mary) Tyree of Whitesburg, Kentucky and 1 sister, Geraldine Garland of Camden, Ohio; 3 grandchildren, Darron Absher of Science Hill, Michael (and Kelly) Caudill of Russell Springs, Jonathan Absher of Somerset and 1 great-granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Caudill. Lelah also leaves behind 2 brother-in-laws, Isaac (and the late Loretta) Caudill of Whitesburg, Kentucky and Steve (and Judy) Caudill of Isom, Kentucky; 2 sister-in-laws, Marie (and the late Charlie) Wells of Gate City, Virginia and Minerva (and Jason) Byrd of Knoxville, Tennessee. Lela leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and friends who all mourn her passing.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Southside Church of God of Prophecy since August 27, 1953.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Richard Ramsey officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family of Mrs. Lelah Tyree Caudill will receive friends after 6 p.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Pulaski Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers family request expressions of sympathy be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
