Lou Ada Coleman, age 84, formerly of Somerset, passed away at her residence in Lake Mary, Florida, on Sunday, January 3, 2016. Lou Ada was born on November 25, 1931 in Lexington, KY to the late Taylor Botkin and Elizabeth Phillips. She married Frederick Barry Coleman who preceded her in death on November 15, 1995.

Lou Ada was a member of St. Mildred Catholic Church. She was a business owner of a grocery store. Some of her hobbies included flowers, music, reading murder/mysteries, historical fiction and reading about the Civil War. She liked all animals and trips to the beach.

Lou Ada is survived by a son, Patrick Coleman of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Rebecca Coleman of Lexington, KY, Julia Coleman of Altamonte Springs, FL, Cathryn Coleman of Lake Mary, FL and Carol Mikles (Kelly), of Clermont, FL; daughter-in-law, Retha Coleman of Lexington, KY; two grandchildren, Ashley Colvin (Tom) and Courtney Coleman and two great-grandchildren, Coleman and Chandlar Williams.

In addition to her parents and husband, Lou Ada was preceded in death by a son, Frederick Coleman.

Visitation for Lou Ada Coleman will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2016 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM at the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking and Crematory.

A Celebration honoring the life of Lou Ada Coleman will be held Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 11:00 AM at St. Mildred Catholic Church with Father Joseph Von Handorf officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY 10065-6007
