Loreen Taman

Loreen Mildred Nivins Taman, age 92, of Somerset, Kentucky, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland.

She was born on August 1, 1926 in Leamington, Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late Wilford and Laura Mildred Moore Nivins.

On January 24, 1965, she married John Kenneth Taman who preceded her in death on December 19, 2001.

Loreen retired in 1988, after twenty-two years of dedicated service as a Bank Officer for Security Bank & Trust. She was a member of Sardis Methodist Church and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her. We know that our loss is Heaven’s eternal gain.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by a brother Donald F. Nivins and his wife Dorothy; and a sister, Patricia Anne Avey.

She is survived by her brother, James E. “Jim” Nivins (and Wendy) of Courtenay, British Columbia; her niece, Donna Nolan (and Elijah) of Bronston; nephew Matthew Nolan (and Heather) of Wilder, KY; and a special friend, Geraldine Rogers of Nancy.

Visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 in the Chapel of Southern Oaks Funeral Home with Celebration of Life Services to be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home with Chaplain Greg Ryan officiating. Inurnment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
