Lois McWilliams

Lois McWilliams, 85, of Somerset, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016 at her residence. Lois was born in Somerset on February 2, 1931 to the late Stephen Early and Kattie Claunch Early. Lois married Talmadge L. Harper who preceded her in death. She married Lester McWilliams on December 16, 1986. He preceded her in death on April 7. 2015.

Lois was a faithful member of Bethel Baptist Church and taught Sunday School Preschool class for over 40 years. She loved serving the Lord and would tell anyone she met about Jesus! Her favorite verse was John 3:16. She loved her time visiting shut-ins, family and her traveling. She had visited every state in the USA. Lois loved her job as a seamstress at Palm Beach where she retired after 45 years.

In addition to her parents and husbands, Lois was preceded in death by a son, James Ray Harper; brothers, Richard Early (Evelyn), Melvin Early, Manford Early and John Early; and sister, Lola Hill.

Survivors include: brother, George Early (Virginia); sisters, Wanda Girdler of Somerset, Judy Loveless of Somerset, Anna Parnell (Terry) of Butler, KY, Thelma Collins (Frank) of Windsor, Pennsylvania; and sister-in-law, Anna Early of Somerset.

The family also wishes to recognize the following caregivers: Dr. Robert Drake, Judy Loveless (sister), Jamie Martin and Vickie Calder (niece).

Visitation for Lois McWilliams will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co and Crematory.

A celebration honoring the life of Lois McWilliams will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Co and Crematory with Bro. Eddie Miller and Bro. Slade Moore officiating.

Interment will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Gideon Bibles, Somerset SE Camp, PO Box 1266, Somerset, KY 42502 or to the Bethel Baptist Church Youth Center, c/o Sheila Estep, 5260 E. Hwy 452, Eubank, KY 42567.
