Linda Roy Frye, age 96 of Nancy, KY, departed this life on Monday, June 28, 2010 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.
She was born on November 28, 1913 in Russell County, KY, the daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Nancy Elizabeth (Chumbley) Roy. She was a schoolteacher, having serving 40 years and 1 month before she retired. Mrs. Frye was a member of the Jabez Church of Christ and enjoyed her grandchildren, quilting, and U.K. Basketball.
Mrs. Frye is survived by a granddaughter, Tammy (and Kenny) Epperson of Nancy, KY; a brother, Oval (and Pat) Roy of Faubush, KY; a sister, Christine Frye of Nancy, KY; and two great grandchildren, Emily (and Stephen) Mankin of Somerset and Keely Epperson of Nancy, KY.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, Hobert Lee Frye, whom she married on April 3, 1939 in Somerset; a son, Charles Lee Frye; two brothers, Otha and Eugene Roy; and a sister, Alma McClendon.
Visitation for Mrs. Frye will be Tuesday, June 29th at 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset.
Funeral service will held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 30th at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Murrell Crockett officiating. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
