Linda Burton

Linda Burton passed away Monday, July 2, 2018. It's hard to sum up any person, created by a heavenly God, with words, created by earthbound people, but it's especially hard to describe one of such good character and such rare tenderness as Linda Burton. She was always, without fail, gentle and kind, yet relentlessly protective when needed. Her presence lit a room with a softness that both warmed and empowered anyone blessed enough to know her.

Linda loved Jesus. Loving Him was more about who she was than what she did. She was His follower. He was her portion and her joy. She daily displayed her faith in God with an unwavering and unpolluted belief that all things were possible. She saw it with her own eyes. She knew the joy and fulfillment of answered prayers. She watched her prayers turn to tangible answers, and she held them in her heart, released them from her arms, and shared them with her friends.

Linda always took a true interest in others and served them well. She was a constant, genuine support for many. She was a giver. She loved thoroughly, loyally, and sacrificially. She'd give up something she needed to give someone she loved something they wanted. She had a big heart and simple desires: Jesus, Cary, her son and her girls, genuine people, her horses, and hard work.

Linda lived well and loved well...very well...and now she has heard, "Well done." from the mouth of the lover of her soul. She has entered her inheritance and she rests in her promised land.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Edith Phelps. Survived by her husband, Cary Burton; her son, Chris Tomlinson; his wife, Jodi; her three granddaughters: Megan, Paige, and Hope; brothers, Mike and Eddie Phelps.

The family will receive friends at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 8, 2018. Funeral service will be at 3:00 pm at Nancy Funeral Home, 9520 W Hwy 80 Nancy, KY 42544.
