Linda Biggs

Linda Biggs, beloved mother and faithful friend, died on Monday, May 31. Born in Cadiz, KY on June 13, 1939, she was the daughter of James A. and Nina Thompson Tuggle. She was an accomplished bridge player, enjoyed singing in the choir at First Baptist Church (Somerset), avid UK sports fan, and was an all-state timpanist at Trigg County High School. A gracious host with an infectious laugh, her dinner tables were lively and there was always room for the frequent meal-time guests. She was 70 years old. She died from Alzheimer's Disease.

Linda graduated from Trigg County High School in 1957, received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown College in 1961, and earned a Master's Degree in education from Eastern Kentucky University in 1982. She taught in Woodford and Fayette county schools, and after her children graduated from college, served her community as Admissions Director at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home and social worker at Lifeline Home Health Care. She retired in 2001.

Linda is survived by her sister, Mary Lou Roark of Hopkinsville, KY, and her children Jim (and Patty) Biggs of Paducah, KY, Jay (and Renee) Biggs of Vine Grove, KY, and Laura (and Craig) Sheehan of Winchester, KY, and Lisa (and Mike) Wolfzorn of Versailles, KY. Surviving grandchildren include Haley and Jake Biggs, Elizabeth and Joshua Biggs, Barbara Sheehan, and David, Abby, Annie, and Emma Wolfzorn.

Visitation will be at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 2nd starting at 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home on Thursday, June 3rd at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Gardens in Somerset, KY.
