Letha Mize age 97 of Somerset, Kentucky passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.
Letha was born on April 26, 1923 in Stab, Kentucky to the late Delbert Wyatt and Arizona Whitson Wyatt. She was a member of High Street Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking and gardening. She was famous for her fried chicken, which her family would drive for miles to sit at her table and eat. Letha had a talent for completing crossword puzzles which she did daily. She was amazing at crocheting and made Christmas ornaments for her children and grandchildren each year. Letha loved visits from her family and friends especially her two daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Paulette (and Bill) McAlpin and Beth Ann Burnett; six grandchildren, Michelle Lee (and Barry), Ashley McAlpin, Christa Marrillia (and Josh), Richie Burnett (and Amanda), Matthew Burnett (and Lauren), Daniel Burnett (and Scarlett); and thirteen great-grandchildren, Ashton Lee, Aidan Lee, Addy Lee, Lincoln Marrillia, Winston Marrillia, Tanner Burnett, Briley Burnett, Logan Burnett, Kyra Burnett, Jay Burnett, Aubrey Burnett, Sawyer Burnett, and Ryson Burnett.
Along with her parents, Delbert and Arizona Wyatt, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Mize.
Visitation will be held on Monday, July 27, 2020 from 10:30am until 11:00am at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.
Her funeral service will follow on Monday at 11:00am at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Bob McAlpin officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
