Leslie "Coy" Mounce

Leslie “Coy” Mounce, age 85, of Somerset, KY, passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Coy was born on March 16, 1938 in Somerset, KY to the late William Roland Mounce and Beulah Mae Debord Mounce.  He was a deacon at New Enterprise Baptist Church. Leslie was a Past Master of Somerset Masonic Lodge #111.  He retired from Whirlpool as a Tool & Die Maker/Machinist.

He is survived by three sons, Eddie (Lorretta) Mounce of Somerset, Jerry (Shelly) Mounce of Colorado Springs, CO and Billy (Greta) Mounce of Somerset; grandchildren, David (Joy) Mounce, Casey Mounce, Brandon Mounce, Rocky Glover, Josh (Amber) Mounce, Zachary Mounce, Jaala (Jeremy) Taylor, Jedidiah (Alexandria) Mounce, Bryson Mounce, Jared Burgett, Derek Burgett and Kyle (Sarah) Hacker; great grandchildren, Milla Mounce, Chloe Mounce, Echo Mounce, Haylee (Shawn) Mounce, Madison Durham, Michael (Shiann) Durham, Briar Mounce, Miles Taylor, Allie Glover, Alexis Glover, Cara Glover, Boaz Mounce, Elisha Mounce, Oliver Hacker, Aiden Noyes and Hunter Noyes; great-great grandchildren, Kaislyn Mounce, Ivylee Stephens, Easton Durham and Eairabella Durham; his siblings, Norma (Lewis) Waddle of Chattanooga, TN, David (Jeannie) Mounce of West Chester, OH and George Mounce of Stanford, KY.  

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Betty Jean (Fulcher) Mounce, whom he married on May 20, 1957 and she preceded him on July 28, 2003; one son, Coy Lee Mounce; his second wife of five years, Stella Taylor Mounce, who preceded him on January 28, 2023; two brothers, Andy Mounce and Orville Mounce; and one sister, Lena Mae Keeney.

Visitation will be on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  A second visitation will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 12:00pm until 1:30pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

His funeral service will follow on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at 1:30pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Jim McKinney officiating.  Burial will be Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
