L.C. Henry, 91, of Science Hill, Kentucky, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Tom's Creek, Virginia on February 5, 1926, son of the late Louis Cephas and Effie Smith Henry, Sr. He was a retired lumber businessman and a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and was wounded in the battle of Iwo Jima. He served for many years as chairman of Pulaski County Water District #1.
He is survived by his wife, Leona Reese Henry of Science Hill, one son, Michael Louis & (Julie) Henry, one daughter, Terri & (Tommy) Petercheff, both of Somerset, two brothers, Donald Henry of Winchester, KY and David J. Henry of Somerset, son-in-law, Charles Sims of Lancaster, KY, five grandchildren, Christen & (Brandon) Rose, Angie & (James) Hughes, Lydia Petercheff, Lauren & (Pakon) Nunthirapakorn and Christopher Henry and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Patricia Ann Henry, two brothers, Howard and Robert Henry and two sisters, Jean Wray and Nancy Kelley.
A funeral service will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 11, 2017 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Dave Muse and Bro. David Muse officiating and military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps Honor Guard.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 2 PM to 5 PM Sunday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
