Lawrence Shadoan

October 7, 1938 — August 16, 2020

Lawrence Lee Shadoan, 81, of Somerset, KY, passed peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 16, 2020.

He was united in marriage to Linda Sue Wilson Shadoan, on April 20, 1957, in Somerset. They shared 63 years of loving companionship and also many adventures over the years, travelling, treasure hunting (yard sales to the lay person) and watching their children and grandchildren grow and accomplish great things. Lawrence enjoyed sports, particularly golf and basketball. He was a loyal fan of UK basketball and Pulaski County High School teams. He went on annual golf trips to Florida with his friends for over 20 years. No doubt, many stories will be told and memories passed down for years to come. He absolutely loved playing cards, Rummy and Rook, but he hated to lose. His siblings are saving him a seat at the table in heaven. He also enjoyed keeping an immaculate yard and leaves that huge responsibility to his son and grandsons. He taught his children and grandchildren by example to be respectful, loving and hard working. Lawrence was a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church.

Lawrence was born in Somerset, October 2, 1938, to Norman D and Cloda Padgett Shadoan, both of whom preceded him in passing.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Sue Shadoan; his children, Kimberly Sue (Roger) Pierce and Curtis Lee Shadoan (Cathy Ison); grandsons, Jason (Lindsey) Pierce, Tyler (Brooke) Pierce, Cory Pierce and Dylan Shadoan; and great-granddaughters, Eliza Pierce, Harlow Pierce and Tenley Vascovich. Lawrence was the youngest of eight children and is survived by Lewis (late Betty) Shadoan, and Juanita (Edward) Coffey. His siblings awaiting him are Roy (Elizabeth) Shadoan, Christine (Johnny) Nichols, Aline (Dudley) Yahnig, Norma Jean (Robert) Hammond, and Roberta Shadoan. He was also blessed with being part of the Wilson family through his marriage to Sue. He has been surrounded by Sharon (Sherman) Parkey, Janie (Claude) Acton, Brent Wilson, David (Debbie) Wilson and Debbie (Richard) Dykes.

Awaiting him are Jim (Elizabeth) Wilson, Margie (Pete) Floyd and Bobby Wilson.

Lawrence leaves behind loving nieces and nephews too numerous to name but valued for the love that they shared.

A special thank you to the Dialysis nurses and staff at Fresenius Kidney Care and Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
