Kenneth Woods

Kenneth D. Woods, age 82, of Somerset, KY., passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Hospice of Lake Cumberland Jean Waddle Care Center.

Kenneth was born on August 17, 1937 in Nancy, KY., to the late Dock Woods and Carrie Sellers Woods. He was Veteran of the United States Army from March 1961 until April 1967. He worked thirty eight years at Crane Plumbing, was a Charter Member at Parkers Mill Baptist Church for thirty six years and a current member of Langdon Street Baptist Church. Kenneth was also a Kentucky Colonel.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Lovell Woods, whom he married on January 9, 1957 in Ringgold, GA and they just had celebrated sixty three years together; two daughters, Kim (Bill) Phelps of Somerset and Penny Woods of Somerset; grandchildren, Megan Phelps (fiancée, John Jones), Logan (and Jaci) Phelps, Chandler Woods, an expectant great-granddaughter, Baby Phelps due in October, and a brother, Lyndon (and Beverly) Woods of Somerset, KY;

Along with his parents, Dock and Carrie Woods, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Wyatt Woods and a brother Ernie Woods.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 from 11:00am until 1:30pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Kenneth’s funeral service will follow on Tuesday at 1:30pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. James Floyd and Bro. Jerry Chandler officiating. Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Military Honors will be conducted by the American Legion Post# 38 Honor Guard.
