Katherine Hughes

Katherine S. "Kathy" Gossett Hughes, 59, of Somerset passed away on Friday, March 4, 2016 at the Jean Waddle Care Center. Kathy was born November 23, 1956 in Somerset, KY to Wilma Mounce Cox and the late Dewey Gossett. She was united in marriage to Clifford "Danny" Hughes on June 4, 1974 in Byrdstown, TN . Kathy was a member of Langdon Street Baptist Church, she loved working in her garden, traveling, spending time with her precious grandchildren and visiting with friends.

Kathy is survived by her mother, husband, children; Scott (Jennifer) Hughes of Somerset, KY , Brandon (Bethany) Hughes of Somerset, KY, brother; Leon (Barbara) Gossett of Somerset, KY, sisters; Cheryl (Donnie) Ping of Somerset, KY, Carla (Adrian) Daniel of Somerset, KY, grandchildren; Dylan Hughes, Brevyn Hughes, Bailey Hughes, Autumn Hughes, and three very special friends; Pate Sadler, Kathy Inabnitt and Debbie Fowler. She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 5 PM-8:30 PM in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company.

A celebration honoring the life of Kathy will be Monday, March 7, 2016 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company with Bro. Johnny Dunbar officiating.

Interment will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
