Katherine Bullock, 88, of Science Hill, Kentucky, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky.
She was born in Somerset, Kentucky on February 4, 1930, daughter of the late George and Maggie Hall Warren.
On October 7, 1947, Katherine married the love of her life, Denton Bullock. On October 7, 2017, they celebrated 70 years of marriage. To this union were born four children. Eva & (Ronald) Wesley, Barty & (Joyce) Bullock, Bonnie & (Doug) Haste and David & (Glenda) Bullock.
Katherine had eight grandchildren who loved her dearly: Mitchell Wesley, Dawnetta Smiley, Cindy Patterson, Kathy Harness, Amy Witt, Amber Gager, Christopher Bullock and Steven Haste. She was also blessed with fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Katherine loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ above all. She had been a member of Jacksonville Baptist Church since 1960 and served the Lord there in many capacities. She and Denton made sure their children were in church every Sunday and saw all of them accept Jesus as their personal Savior. As a tribute to her faithfulness, all four have spent their lives serving Jesus. She loved to sing and was an amazing cook. She is renowned for her delicious pumpkin pie, unique pancakes, banana pudding, chocolate gravy and cole slaw, plus many others too numerous to mention. She was known and loved as Ma by many people. Katherine touched many lives during her 88 years and now enjoys the presence of her Savior forever.
Katherine is survived by her husband, Denton Bullock, all four children, eight grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two brothers, Millard and Ernest Warren and one sister, Jolly Luttrell.
She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Hershel, William, Willard, James and Thomas Warren, five sisters, Anna, Joyce and Virginia Warren, Viola Mink and Helen White.
A funeral service will be held at 10 AM Thursday, September 27, 2018 at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home with Bro. Brandon Patterson and Bro. Gary Whitaker officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be after 5 PM Wednesday at Morris & Hislope Funeral Home.
