Karen Duncan

Karen Duncan, age 59 of Somerset, departed this life on Thursday, March 1, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born on December 17, 1952 in Cincinnati, OH to Thomas E. Duncan and the late Irene L. Vickery Duncan. Ms. Duncan had worked as a waitress for Duncan's Family Restaurant and was a member of the Spirit of Truth Church in Somerset. She was a very outgoing person, loving mother, sister, daughter and aunt. Ms. Duncan obtained her Associate of Arts degree from Eastern Kentucky University and was a sorority member. She loved antiques and flea marketing. Ms. Duncan is survived by her father, Thomas E. Duncan of Bronston, KY; her soul mate, Billy S. Sams of Somerset; a son, Thomas W. Duncan of Brandenburg, KY; four sisters, Ann Cain of Somerset, Rebecca Lavender of Marshes Siding, KY, Stephanie (and Michael) McDonald of LaGrange, KY, and Beth (and John) Tripp of Somerset. She was preceded in death by her mother, Irene Duncan and a sister, Deborah Tompkins. Visitation for Ms. Duncan will be held on Monday, March 5th at 6:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home, 1046 West Highway 80, Somerset. Funeral service will be Tuesday, March 6th at 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Dustin York and Bro. Joey Simmons officiating. Interment will be in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
