Karen Brasfield

Karen Denise Brasfield, of Louisville, KY., formerly of Somerset, known to friends and family as Karen or "KK", was born on December 8, 1961 and passed away on December 28, 2017 at the age of 56 years.

Karen was a member of First Baptist Church of Somerset. She attended Somerset Community College and graduated with an Associates degree as well as Campbellsville University working on a Bachelors degree. She was a true-blue Kentucky Wildcat fan.

Along with her parents, Ted and Shirley Padgett Brasfield, she was preceded in death by one brother, Brandon Leslie, and a sister, Linda Vaught.

She is survived by her life partner of 20+ years, Kristi L King, three sisters, Lorrie Compton, Terri (and Charles "Jeep") Burton, and Tammie (and Dale) Lovins, one brother, Steven (and Janet) Brasfield of Lexington, KY; seven children, Tia Brasfield, Ignacio Brasfield, Jonny Brasfield, Roxanne Brasfield Willis, Mark Whitehead, Lisa (Douglas) Baker, and Jacob Whitehead, fourteen grandchildren, Emma McNeeley, Paxton Baker, Sophia McNeeley, Cameron Baker, Zackary Baker, Paige Willis, Brooke Willis, Hayden Willis, Logan Brasfield, Lucas Brasfield, Gerald Sebastian Savage III, Liam James Brasfield Rackermann, Jay'vion La'Francis Winters, and Xander Lee Winters. She was also survived by many nieces and nephews, a special friend, Melissa Patten, and other special family, friends, and loved ones. She will be missed. "I love you Mother". Heaven gained another angel while we gained a guardian angel.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Mullins officiating. Entombment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
