Jurl Cunnagin, 93 passed away on Monday, May 30th, 2022 at the Jean Waddle Care Center Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
He was born August 1st, 1928 in Bond, Kentucky, the son of Captain David and Pollie Lakes Cunnagin.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years who he married on May 30th, 1950 in Somerset, Kentucky. Also surviving are three daughters; Connie Wilson of Columbus, Ohio, Karen Williams of Somerset, Kentucky and Robin Cunnagin of Somerset, Kentucky; seven grandchildren, Eric Brooks (Billy), Emily Wilson (Jon), Lindsey Kimberl (James), Heather Benton (Adam), Evan Wilson (Ashley), Bradley Cunnigan, Kaylee Williams (Jeremiah Samuels), thirteen great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends who mourn his passing.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by; one son, Nolan Cunnagin; four brothers, Elbert (Marie) Cunnagin, Billy (Dolly) Cunnagin, Tony (Thelma) Cunnagin, Ray (Mary) Cunnagin; and two sisters, Ineda (Ray) Turner, and June (Glen) Daws.
Jurl loved fishing, raising a garden and working in the yard, he also loved spending time with his family. He retired from General Motors in Dayton, Ohio in 1974 and he served in the United States Navy from 1945 - 1949.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Pulaski Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Dunn and Bro. Danny Rowland. Burial will follow in the Lakeside Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Kimberl, Jeremiah Samuels, Eric Brooks, Evan Wilson, Dakota and Malakai Hiatt.
Military honors will be conducted at the Pulaski Funeral Home by the American Legion Post #38.
The family of Mr. Jurl Cunnagin will receive friends at the Pulaski Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. Friday until time for services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of Contributions to the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan or the Pulaski County Animal Shelter.
