Juanita Marie Coffey

Juanita Marie (Shadoan) Coffey, age 89, passed on to her eternal home, March 25, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  She was born on May 27, 1934 to the late Norman Shadoan and Cloda Padgett Shadoan in Somerset, KY.

Juanita was preceded in death by one daughter, Lisa Marie Coffey; one granddaughter, Jaime Coffey; and her siblings, Roy (Elizabeth) Shadoan, Christine (Johnny) Nicholas, Aline (Dudley) Yahnig, Lewis (Betty) Shadoan, Norma Jean (Robert) Hammond, Lawrence Shadoan, and Roberta Shadoan who passed at birth.

Juanita attended Saline School in Pulaski County.  She was a member of Saline Baptist Church.  Juanita enjoyed volunteering at Saline Christian Academy and Camp Canaan Kitchen, and reading her Bible.  She loved to cook for the family and spend time with them.  She was a Christian example to her family and everyone who knew her.  

She is survived by her loving husband of seventy three years, Clarence “Edward” Coffey, whom she married on July 1, 1950 in Stab, KY; her children, Michael Edward Coffey, Ronald Douglas (Sandy) Coffey, Terri (Mark) Cox, and Tim Coffey all of Pulaski County; one sister-in-law, Sue Shadoan; ten grandchildren, Jessica Coffey, Eric Coffey, Whitney Durham, Aaron Baker, Marlana Vaught, Justin Coffey, Matthew Layton, Jason Layton, David McQuarter and Daniel McQuarter; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

Her funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 11:00am at Saline Baptist Church, 2685 West Highway 80, Somerset, KY.  Burial will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.  Pallbearers will be Eric Coffey, Justin Coffey, Aaron Baker, Jason Layton, DeAngelo Durham and Hunter Hilton.
