Joyce Adkins

September 4, 1935 — February 10, 2024

Joyce Angel Adkins was born September 4, 1935 and died on Saturday February 10, 2024 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.  She was the sixth daughter born to Everett and Lena Miller Angel.  She spent years as a wife, mother, and excellent homemaker before retiring from Super Service, Inc.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and brothers-in-law, Vida (Joe) Neeley, Dorothy (Max) Hansford, Barbara (Glen) Massey;  brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy (Sandy) Angel, Richard McGahan and Charles Rogers; nieces, Patty Warren, Laura Lu Neeley, and Joetta Neeley; and nephew Doug Hansford.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband, Eugene “Bud” Adkins; her children, Lindon Thomas Harris, Connie Belle Harris (Happy) Rakestraw and Phillip Dale (Robin) Harris; her grandchildren, Tonya (Randall) Stringer, Angel Rakestraw, Joy Belle Carroll and Aubrey Harris;  great grandchildren,  Cody (Brooke) Stringer,  Bailey Stringer, Ben Rakestraw Godby and Mollee Belle Carroll;  her great great “grands”, Clover, Finn, Cordelia and Zaber.   She also leaves two sisters, Norma Rogers and Shirley McGahan; nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Linda (Hunter) Denney.

Joyce Angel Adkins was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and loved her Sunday School Class there ……  she attended as long as her health would permit.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 15, 2024 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.  Her funeral service will follow at  12:00 pm on Thursday,  February 15, 2024 at the Chapel of  Lake Cumberland Funeral Home  with Pastor Alan Fisher officiating.   Burial will be at the  Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
