Joseph Bradley Bastin, age 73, of Somerset, KY, departed this life on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital.

Joseph was born on August 27, 1942 in Science Hill, KY to the late Kenneth Edward Bastin and Evelyn Vaught Bastin. He was the owner/operator of Treasure Chest for 25 years. Joseph also worked for the Kentucky State Highway Department for 10 years and was a partner in Jasper & Associates Engineering.

He is survived by his wife, Pamela Bastin, whom he married on March 9, 1963 in Science Hill, KY; one son, Joseph Bradley (and Melissa) Bastin II of Somerset, KY; one brother, Gary (and Beverly Ann) Bastin of Mukilteo, WA; two sisters, Patricia Ann (and Danny) Jasper of Jasper, IN and Anita Kaye Bastin of Nicholasville, KY; six nephews, Kent Jasper of Somerset, KY, Todd (and Kendra) Jasper of Jasper, IN, Jeff (and Kenna) Jasper of Lexington, KY, Brad (and Susan) Sloan of Somerset, KY, Eric Brotherton of Nancy, KY and Eddie (and Judy) Daulton of Somerset, KY; seven nieces, Amanda (and Mike) VanArsdale of Lexington, KY, Ashley (and H.G.) Hickey of Somerset, KY, Robin (and Fabian) Berinal of Georgetown, KY, Amie Brotherton of Somerset, KY, Melissa Newland of Indiana, Angela Brotherton of Nancy, KY and Teresa (and John) Haynes of Nancy, KY; two brothers-in-law, Ronald (and Diane) Brotherton of Somerset, KY and Wendell (and Karen) Brotherton of Nancy, KY.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Lake Cumberland Funeral Home.

His funeral service will follow the visitation on Wednesday at 1:00pm at the Chapel of Lake Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Isaiah Super officiating. Entombment will be at Lakeside Memorial Gardens.
